Local Plan Part 2 Review Issues and Options

South Derbyshire District Council has begun work on reviewing the adopted Local Plan Part 2, which sets out non-strategic policies and allocations against which future planning applications will be determined.

Consultation is a key part of the local plan process, and this Issues and Options (Regulation 18) consultation is the first public consultation on what the Local Plan Part 2 Review should include.

How to have your say...

The consultation commences on 24th November 2025. Information regarding the consultation can be found on our website at: www.southderbyshire.gov.uk/issuesandoptionsPart2Review

Reference copies if the consultation documents and paper copies if the questionnaire can be found at the following locations (during opening hours) as reasonably practical following the start of the consultation.

• South Derbyshire District Council, Civic Offices, Civic Way, Swadlincote, DE11 0AH
• All South Derbyshire libraries and the following libraries outside of the District: Burton on Trent, Chellaston, Mickleover and Sinfin

A series if drop in events are to be held around the District throughout December and January, as listed below. The events are open to all, and you do not have to attend your nearest one. As always, we would like you to extend the invitation far and wide. Please do tell your family, friends and neighbours about this consultation and the opportunity to respond to shaping the District.

Comments made in response to this consultation need to be made in writing. We encourage you to submit your responses online (through the Councils website), where you can register and submit your comments.
